About Alumni Associations
Stay Connected with Fellow Phi Beta Kappa Members - Join a Phi Beta Kappa Alumni Association!
Graduating from college doesn't mean leaving behind your Phi Beta Kappa connections. The love of learning - and your Phi Beta Kappa membership - lasts a lifetime and so can your involvement with Phi Beta Kappa if you join one of nearly 50 alumni associations. Associations have been a part of the Phi Beta Kappa family since 1877 when the first association formed in New York City. We've built alumni bases in large and small communities since then, including London, the first international association since World War II.
Becoming an association member gives you the opportunity to meet other Phi Beta Kappa members in your area and can also be a great way to network and make professional connections. Associations are financially independent from the Society and set their own, modest annual dues to support their activities. Many associations award scholarships to outstanding high school and college students, and some present prizes for student achievement and teaching excellence. Many associations collaborate with Phi Beta Kappa chapters to organize lectures and events.
One of the best ways to interact with other Phi Beta Kappa members is by attending some of the creative and fun professional and cultural events sponsored by your association. These often include group theater outings, guided walking tours of local historic districts, book clubs, conversations with authors, community service days and more. Many associations have young professionals sections, with events designed to let young Phi Beta Kappa professionals connect with their counterparts as well as with association members who can act as mentors. You can see a listing of association events in the Phi Beta Kappa Calendar. Association leaders can help us keep our calendar up-to-date by using the button below to submit upcoming events.
To find an association near you, visit our Association Directory. If there isn't one in your area, consider starting one! For more detailed information and help along the way, please contact Ann McCulloch, Director of Chapter and Association Relations, at 202-745-3249 or email@example.com.
