Animesh Borad is a member of the Medical Honors Program at the University of Florida, where he majors in Biological and Medical Sciences. He is passionate about shaping health policy, expanding access to care, and promoting greater involvement in government and public service among pre-health students and physicians. Before the University of Florida, Animesh studied Biology and Economics at Rutgers University–Camden. There, he co-founded a student-led organization, Caring for Camden, dedicated to supporting homeless and underserved populations. While in New Jersey, Animesh conducted research on the state's EMT shortage in collaboration with a member of the New Jersey General Assembly and worked on chronic pain research at Children's Specialized Hospital. A certified EMT for over three years, Animesh still serves with his hometown rescue squad when home. At the University of Florida, Animesh currently conducts research in chronic pain with the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the College of Medicine where he looks forward to beginning his MD program . In his free time, he enjoys traveling, following Manchester City (his favorite soccer team), and spending time with friends and family.
