Cristopher Espino is a first-generation rising third-year student at the University of California - Los Angeles, double majoring in Political Science & Education and Social Transformation Studies. He serves as the Academic Affairs Commissioner for UCLA's Undergraduate Student Association Council, representing over 33,000 students while managing a significant budget and leading initiatives to promote academic equity. Cristopher also serves on the LA Youth Commission, appointed by the LA County Board of Supervisors, where he helps shape policies to improve opportunities for system-impacted youth. His work as a Lived Expert and Community Consultant, alongside his role as an Education Rights Advocate with the Alliance, includes developing a podcast series and educational videos to educate systems-involved youth about their rights. Cristopher presented at the 2025 CA Foster Youth Education Summit alongside his peers. Recognized for his commitment to public service, Cristopher received a California Certificate of Recognition as an elected official on the North Westwood Neighborhood Council and was awarded the Obama-Chesky Voyager Scholarship for the 2024-2025 academic years. He is a 2025 LeadNext Fellow with The Asia Foundation and a Changemaker with The Allstate Foundation, where he participated in the National Youth Service Summit. More recently, Cristopher was honored with UCLA's 2025 Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Student Leadership Award and is also a 2025 Donald A. Strauss Scholar, where he will lead a mentorship program for systems-impacted youth interested in pursuing higher education.
