Saami Baig is a rising junior at Rice University studying social policy analysis and health sciences with a minor in Spanish. On campus, Saami serves as Co-Chair of the Baker Institute Student Forum General Board and as a Community Facilitator Coordinator, where he works to increase student engagement with policy and diversity-related issues.
As Chair of the Harris County Safe Schools Commission, Saami advises the Harris County Commissioners Court on student safety issues, advancing data-driven policy solutions. A proud Executive Council Member of Team ENOUGH and intern at Harris County Precinct 4, he contributes to building safer communities through rigorous research and policy analysis.
After graduation, he intends to earn a JD/MPH and aspires to devote his career to addressing systemic health disparities through law, policy, and community-centered solutions. In his free time, Saami enjoys photographing nature, DJing, and biking.
