Trenton Schroering is a third-year student at the University of Kentucky, where he is a member of the Lewis Honors College studying political science with minors in Law & Justice and Writing, Rhetoric, & Digital Studies. A Chellgren Research Fellow, Trenton conducts research in the Department of Political Science under the mentorship of Dr. Maggie Macdonald and writes on how Congressional candidates present themselves on social media.
President of the Honors College Student Council, Trenton has also advocated for responsible dialogue and social justice causes as the inaugural event coordinator for BridgeUSA Kentucky and the panel coordinator for Transformative Colors. Trenton's organizing efforts in Lexington, Kentucky include serving as Candidate Forum Coordinator for the Lexington League of Women Voters and formerly serving on the Fayette County Democratic Party Executive Committee. Passionate about civil service and hoping to uplift communities, Trenton has been staffing political campaigns since he was 16 and has since interned at the Kentucky House of Representatives.
After graduation, Trenton intends to pursue a PhD in American Politics with a specialty in campaign research, while continuing his work promoting civic engagement and voter enfranchisement. In his free time, Trenton is an avid writer, Tetris player, and football enthusiast, who one day aspires to raise goats.
