Don P. Murnane III (Trey) is a rising senior in the Honors Program at The Catholic University of America, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Politics on the pre-law track with minors in History and Markets & Political Economy. He is a six-time Dean's List honoree and was selected as a Hertog Foundation Constitutional Law Fellow. Additionally, he is a member of the Phi Eta Sigma and Pi Gamma Mu Honor Societies.
While studying in Washington, D.C., Trey has built a diverse portfolio of professional and political experience. He has completed internships in both chambers of the United States Congress with Senator Cynthia Lummis and Representative Matt Rosendale. In the private sector, he has interned with the public affairs firm Woodberry Associates and the international law firm Sterne Kessler Goldstein & Fox. He also spent a year working as a Political and Communications Intern for Catholic Vote during the lead-up to and aftermath of the 2024 election. A native of Central New York, Trey spent the past two summers serving as an intern at the Oneida County District Attorney's Office.
On campus, Trey is a Campus Ministry Student Leader, a Politics Department Student Mentor, and a Student Ambassador for the College of Arts and Sciences. He also serves as the Vice President of Membership for the College Republicans and is a co-founder and president of the university's Club Baseball team. Following his expected graduation in May 2027, he plans to attend law school with the ultimate ambition of litigating constitutional issues at the appellate level and one day serving as a federal judge. In his free time, he enjoys playing baseball, golfing, and skiing.
