In 1776, when Phi Beta Kappa’s founding members gathered to discuss topics beyond the purview of their College of William & Mary education, they knew not only that freedom of expression was crucial to a vibrant democracy and culture, but that friendship and literature strengthen one another. We’re celebrating that legacy by showcasing exceptional publications and the ways that knowledge inspires action.

This gathering is for readers, writers, artists, editors, students, teachers, zinesters, and the publication-curious alike. Make connections with fellow literary lovers, learn about local presses and literary organizations, or try your hand at making a zine. No publishing experience needed. It's all happening at the Pub Fair!

The Pub Fair will include a table for The American Scholar, Phi Beta Kappa’s award-winning quarterly magazine of public affairs, literature, science, history, and culture. This event is cohosted by the Phi Beta Kappa Association of the Chicago Area. Register today!
