Nicholas (or Nick) Sligh is a current Sophomore undergraduate student at Stanford University where he is double majoring in Economics (with a concentration in International and Development Economics) and International Relations (with a primary specialization in Economic Development/World Economy and a secondary specialization in Social Development and Human Well-Being). Nick's primary academic interests revolve around the areas of international sustainable development, economic policy, development finance, international governance, and foreign relations. On campus, Nick is involved as the Fellowships Director for Stanford Social Entrepreneurial Students Association (SENSA), Impact Lab Leader for Computer Science + Social Good, a writer for The Stanford Daily, a Board Member of the Stanford Undergraduate Research Association (SURA), and a member of the Financial Inclusion team of the King International Development Association (KIDA). Nick currently works as a research assistant in the Behavioral Lab of the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and also as a research assistant in the Stanford Law School to Professor Joe Grundfest, compiling a legal memoranda database to help provide legal information to those that have been affected by the Covid-19 crisis. Over the coming summer (2020), Nick will be working with the United States International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) on economic impact analysis of the major international development investment projects of the United States. Following graduation, Nick hopes to pursue an advanced degree relating to Development Economics and/or International Relations and then pursue a career in the fields of Foreign Service/International Development.
