The Administrative Assistant/Concierge will be the welcoming first point of contact for Phi Beta Kappa’s members, chapters, and volunteers.

In this role, you’ll serve as the Society’s “concierge”—staffing our helpdesk and shared inboxes with warmth, accuracy, and care. You’ll help members navigate questions, find answers, and connect with the right staff partners—ensuring that every interaction reflects the excellence and spirit of Phi Beta Kappa.

Department: Member & Chapter Relations
Reports To: Deputy Director for Member & Volunteer Engagement
Status: Full-time, Exempt
Location: Dupont Circle, Washington DC- in person required

Key Responsibilities:

- Be the first point of connection for members, volunteers, and chapters, staffing organizational helpdesks and shared inboxes with a welcoming, solution-oriented approach.
- Craft clear, accurate, and timely responses to a wide range of inquiries—ensuring every interaction reflects professionalism and care.
- Collaborate across departments by identifying and escalating questions or issues to the right staff partners (e.g., donor relations, chapter operations, or IT).
- Contribute to data integrity by assisting with membership data entry and management.
- Serve as a trusted guide and connector, helping members and volunteers access the tools, information, and people they need to thrive.
