Join Phi Beta Kappa in San Diego for the first of four nationwide 250th Anniversary events, featuring a program on AI and the liberal arts.

In 2026, the Phi Beta Kappa Society celebrates its 250th anniversary. This milestone highlights the enduring power of the liberal arts and sciences to shape leadership, advance discovery, and strengthen democratic society.

As part of a nationwide series of four anniversary events, we invite you to join us in San Diego, California, for an exchange of ideas, dialogue, and meaningful connection. We will bring together Phi Beta Kappa members, academic leaders, innovators, and friends of the Society for an engaging program.

The Human Algorithm: The Liberal Arts and the Age of Artificial Intelligence, will feature TED talk style presentations, a moderated conversation, and an audience Q&A with distinguished thought leaders. Participants will explore the opportunities, challenges, and societal impact of artificial intelligence through the lens of the liberal arts and sciences. The program will take place in the Kaplan Theater at the San Diego Natural History Museum.

Guests will enjoy a dynamic exchange of ideas, meaningful networking, and an inspiring celebration of Phi Beta Kappa’s legacy and future.
